A Tremendously Successful Season for the Ottawa Gloucester Hornets M2004 ERSL Premier Team!!

As the local soccer community knows well, the Mens 2004 Premier Team is a vibrant group of talented athletes and had set high goals this season, at home and out-of-province. Under the leadership of Coach Andrew Gilchrist and Manager Leah Hutchinson-White, our team attended the 27th Annual Eastern Eagles Soccer Tournament in Montague, Prince Edward Island on July 26-28, 2019. After a 16-hour team bus ride and crossing the Confederation Bridge only 10 hours before the first match, the Ottawa Hornets were not the weary travelers as most Islanders had expected! In fact, our Hornets came out strong and continued to play 6 demanding, hard fought games over 3 days. The team remained undefeated and resulted in winning the Championship game with a 6-0 victory.

Before boarding the team bus back to Ottawa, our boys took in the beauty of PEI ~ some went swimming in the Atlantic Ocean and the entire team went deep sea fishing and enjoyed the Island’s amazing culture, hospitality and many lobster rolls. What a memorable trip for our young Hornets! Manager Leah has started exploring away tournaments and the next season’s 2020 adventure.

The boys continued to have a great season here at home, and with much hard work and determination, successfully ended up in the Shield Finals. Each and every player had an amazing season. And, while the summer season has ended, the Team and Coach are excited about the start-up of the Winter Development Program. The 2004 Premier Hornets are gearing up for another great year of soccer and more adventures!

Thank you to the extended Hornets community, and our many friends and families that have supported our team.
