Ottawa Gloucester Hornets Soccer is happy to welcome new coach, current Canadian Premier League (CPL) player & Gloucester Hornet Youth Graduate, Raphaël Garcia.
Raphael currently plays for Valour FC in the CPL. Raphael developed as an Ottawa Gloucester Hornet Youth player from ages 9-12 before moving to Montreal. He was selected into the Montreal Impact Academy, a franchise for Major League Soccer (MLS), where he played for seven years. Raphaël made his professional debut as a trialist for the Ottawa Fury FC in the 2018 Cap City Cup. He then signed a multi-year contract in the CPL's Valour FC. He also has coaching experience with the Ottawa Gloucester Hornets as well as teams in Nova Scotia.
“We are always happy to have Hornet graduates return to our club as coaches, especially ones with experience such as Raphaël so that he can share with our aspiring pro-players. Raphaël will be supporting not only the U10B D2-Black team but also the Individual Development and other programs as well. We are constantly looking to bring in quality coaches to best serve our Hornet members. Welcome home Raphael!" - Lead Technical Director - Jay Da Costa.
Raphael is the second CPL player, along with Zach Sukunda, coaching the Ottawa Gloucester Hornets - as well multiple Provincial B, National B and UEFA B Licensed Coaches - and of course Carl Haworth, Captain of Ottawa Fury FC.
