New BU17 Head Coach, Graham Dufort

By Hornets Communications, 02/23/20, 1:00PM EST

Hello BU17,

We are happy to announce the newly assigned Head Coach for the 2003 Regional Boys OGH Team, Coach Graham Dufort

"It was important to assign someone that will push this group further, instill some discipline and provide a driven environment.  This is a very talented group of individual players with a lot of potentials if their focus and efforts are unified.  Graham is someone who has played at the university level and knows what is required to reach that level - and/or further." Lead Technical Director - Jay Da Costa

Graham was born and raised in North Bay, Ontario, where he began playing soccer at an early age. He completed his Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History and his Bachelor of Education (BE) at Nipissing University, where he played 3 years of OUA Soccer, for which he was awarded Rookie of the Year for his team. After his playing career, Graham went on to work as an Assistant Coach with the Nipissing University Women’s Volleyball Team before moving to Ottawa as a full-time teacher. After moving to Ottawa, he began working with the Ottawa-Gloucester Hornets organization as Head Coach of the BU14 C1 team, whom he coached for two seasons. Graham also accepted a position as Lead Counsellor for the Hornets Recreational Summer Camp, which he successfully led for two summers. "I am excited to continue working with this great organization and take on a new challenge as Head Coach of the BU17 Regional Team. With hard work, dedication, and passion, our team and players will push themselves to be as successful as possible this season" Graham Dufort.

We want to thank Coach Mike Ilunga and his staff (Jacob & Umberto) for their commitment and dedication to this group.  Mike will be taking a much-deserved leave of absence for family reasons.
