Updates of COVID-19; Return To Play Guidelines - OSA

By Ontario Soccer, 06/17/20, 10:15AM EDT

Pitch in, Play ON! Ontario Soccer has recently announced that there will be a return to soccer fields this summer.

Following the Province of Ontario’s announcement on June 8, which stated that beginning on Friday, June 12, outdoor amateur, youth team sports have been cleared to begin phasing-in a plan that will see athletes take the field again and commence training.

In concert with this announcement, Ontario Soccer is now announcing our sport specific Return to Play safety protocol and guidelines for soccer in Ontario.

With guidance from the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries, as well as review from Canada Soccer, Ontario Soccer has released its Return to Play Guide, which will now be implemented by the Ontario Soccer membership.

Phase 1 of the Return To Play model - RETURN TO TRAINING will allow players to take the field and participate in modified training.  This means no contact, maintaining 2 meters between players, and no group drills.

If you have further questions, please go to the COVID-19 Updates page, which has all the latest information from Ontario Soccer.
