Jay Da Costa, OGHSC - Lead Technical Director

We would like to officially welcome Jay Da Costa as the OGHS Lead Technical Director

Jay has a highly respected player and coaching reputation within the province and country's soccer community.  Coach Jay has gone to earn multiple championships during his playing career and partaken in some of the country's highest level events.  To name a few of the accomplishments as a player, Ontario Federation School Athletic Association (OFSAA) Champion, Ottawa Cup Men’s Premier Champion (x 5), OCSL Men’s Premier Champion (x6), Silver Medal at the Canadian Interuniversity Sports (CIS) National Championship (now USPORTS) & 2 x Ontario University Athletics (OUA)  Finalist with Carleton University Mens Soccer, Ontario Cup Champion (Men's), and Canadian National Champion (Men's). 

Jay has an extensive coaching career with over 20 years of experience at various age groups (ages 5 to adult).  As a coach, Jay has a "player first" mentality. He inspires and motivates players with his passion and insight of the game.  A brief but not limited background of coach Da Costa's coaching career includes ; Boys Head Coach for Ottawa Fury Academy (x7 years), Boys Head Coach at Ottawa Fury FC (x2 years), Vancouver Whitecaps Ottawa Academy Centre Coach (x2 years), Gloucester Hornets (x5 years), multiple Camps, Programs and Soccer Advisor/Instructor for Nunavut Soccer Association.  He is also the current co-President for Carleton University Men's Soccer Alumni Association.

Coach Jay currently holds a Provincial B License and Canada National B License.  He has had the privilege of working alongside some of the country’s best mentors - including receiving coaching education at Tottenham Hotspurs Academy.  Jay has also been responsible for guiding multiple players towards University and College varsity teams (Canada & USA) as well as multiple players into professional streams (Canada, USA & Europe).
