Simply put, the Ottawa Gloucester Hornets are blessed to have some of the best soccer facilities in Ontario.
Nestled in a spectacular greenbelt setting, ringed by majestic woodlands, there are few better venues for the soccer player or spectator. On a beautiful summer day the Hornets Nest can best be described as idyllic. A perfect combination of green grass, fresh air and sunshine that provides a fitting setting in which to play the beautiful game.
Our 11 Hornets Nest pitches and the TMSI SuperDome have a reputation for being among the best in the City. Many a player has welcomed a visit to the Hornets Nest, confident in the knowledge that the ball will still run true, and that a tumble to the ground will not feel like crashing into concrete.
Our clubhouse, the Pavillon Eric Danis Clubhouse, was expanded in 2011 to add team change rooms. It brings together a meeting room/coaching centre, Hornets office space, Technical Staff space, canteen, storage rooms, washrooms and an outdoor patio deck. The meeting room is a particular focal point for our soccer community with its soccer ball glass shaped window. It has hosted hundreds of team meetings, coaching sessions and social get-togethers over the years.
The on-site dome holds one full field, or 3 mini-fields perfect for our winter soccer programs and training.

He was an inspiration to all that met him; we were in awe of his strength, his grace, his courage and his unselfish kindness; now we have an opportunity to make that a living legacy for Eric Danis.
His family and friends shared Eric's pain as he gamely fought leukemia; an even greater circle of friends witnessed with admiration his remarkable persona as he shared that fight in public. Raising funds for CHEO, co-hosting the CHEO Telethon and other special events, speaking publically about his love of life, and the blessings God gave to him in spite of the vulgar disease that ate away at him.
Of all his passions, soccer always rated at or near the top. It was his joy, as his teammates can attest. This Hornets Nest Clubhouse will be a reminder to all of us, always, that life is precious, celebrating it daily so imporant; it will challenge other young people to embrace Eric's mission to make a difference in the life of this planet, in the lives of others. And it will always remind us a truly remarkable young hero, to whom we are forever indebted for teaching us - in death - about living.

The City of Ottawa has adopted amendments to its by-laws to provide for more smoke-free spaces. The amendments are part of a strategy that is designed to protect children and non-smokers from second-hand smoke, while reducing smoking rates. The by-law changes apply to all outdoor areas on municipal properties including parks, playgrounds, beaches, sports fields, and outdoor areas around City facilities.
The smoke-free regulations apply 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
For more information about the new Smoke-Free regulations or help to quit smoking, please visit Ottawa.ca/smokefree or phone 311.
