Community and Premier Camps

OGHS COMMUNITY SUMMER CAMP

The Ottawa Gloucester Hornets will once again be offering 8 weeks of community camps in July and August 2020, available to all children ages 5-12 and is led by experienced Hornets Coaching Staff.

Located at the Hornets Nest, the camp focuses on developing soccer skills (ensuring the content reflects the proper age and stage of development) and additional activities (arts and crafts, water games, puzzles, leisure and entertainment activities). Campers will be grouped based on size, age and ability when developing their soccer skills.

No Soccer Experience Needed

Please note: We do our best to provide a nut-free camp; however, the absence of nuts is not 100% guaranteed.

Campers must bring a NUT FREE packed lunch, Monday to Friday.


REMEMBER TO BRING

  • Waterbottle
  • Running shoes / cleats / shinpads
  • Sunscreen
  • Insect repellent

Pack your child a healthy bag lunch that they will enjoy and that will give them energy for all the activities they'll be involved in. Do not pack items that require heating or refrigeration. 

When packing lunches, please do not include any of the following products in your child's lunch:  Peanut butter, Nutella, peanuts, all three nuts, any products that contains traces of nuts.

Recommended one complete change of cloths:

  • Socks
  • Underwear
  • Shorts
  • T-shirt
  • Light jacket/Rain coat

DAILY SCHEDULE

  • 8:00 to 8:30 am  - Early drop-off
  • 9 to 10:30 am - Soccer Activities (Fun activities and games for all ages and capabilities!
  • 10:30 to 11:15 am - Nutrition Break and Cool-down Activities
  • 11:15 to 1:00 pm - Large Group Camp Games and Team Bonding!
  • 1:00 to 2:00 pm - Nutrition Break and Cool-down Activities
  • 2:00 to 3:30 pm - Soccer Activities (Fun activities and games for all ages and capabilities!
  • 3:30 to 4:00 pm - Daily Discussion to End the Day
  • 4:00 to 4:30pm - Pick-up
  • 4:30 to 5:00 pm - Late pick-up 

EXTENDED CARE

Pre and post-camp supervision is included in your registration, from 8:30 to 9:00 am, and 4:00 to 4:30 pm.

If you need to drop your child off earlier than 8:30 am or need to pick them up later than 4:30 pm, extended care is available at an additional cost, paid only during registration.

Does your child take medication?

If your child takes medication, make sure it is given to a counselor immediately. All medication, vitamins, must be stored with the camp counselors, the first aid stations where it is available and administered safely.

Clearly label the medication with your children's name, exact dosage and what time should be administered.

If your child requires an EpiPen, send two with them - one to be stored in the First Aid station and one to be carried by the child's camp counselor.

OGHS PREMIER SOCCER CAMP

Our Premier Soccer Camps curriculum are created from our Canada Soccer National Certified Technical Director Team.  These camps are open and catered to the experienced level player, Boys & Girls, who are seeking to further develop their technical, tactical and physiological part of the game.  Daily themes and specific daily session plans are created to expand the individual’s player development, maximize players time on the ball as well as provide a total fun and positive environment! 

All of our camps are taught at a level where children will be challenged during the week, placed in like development groups and have an incredible soccer experience at the same time.

Coaches/Instructors – Certified Premier Level Coaches, to be announced closer to the date.  Will include Coaches of both genders as well as guest sessions from our Technical Directors and Professional Players.  The coaches will challenge the players daily while providing an incredible soccer experience and immersing them in the beautiful game of football.

PREMIER CAMP RATES

  • Week 1 - July 13 - July 17 -  $250
    • (Early Bird $225 until April 30)
  • Week 2 - July 20 - July 24 - $250
    • (Early Bird $225 until April 30)

Program intended for U9 (born 2011) to U13 (born 2007) age categories.

*Some U8’s may be considered if at the “Premier” level and upon approval from the Technical Director.

Program Fee Includes:

  • OGHS Premier Camp T-shirt
  • Lunch provided on Friday
  • Various prizes on the final day.
  • Daily discovery activity.
